Introduction: Carolyn Evans chaired the meeting and welcomed everyone.
Finances: We currently have £5114 on the books, we made a fantastic £267 from the St Valentines cake sale.
Vacancies for Chair and Vice-Chair: We are still looking for replacements for these posts. The current committee are working well together as a team but we do need a chair and vice chair.
Review of Cake Sale: It was agreed that the cake sale was a great success, a huge thank you to everyone who donated cakes and cookies, much appreciated. Future cake sales will hopefully take place perhaps around another celebration such as Hallowe'en.
School Discos: Help recruited for this weeks discos, postponement of the nursery disco until next week, 3rd March. There is a possibility the next discos will all be held on the same day eg a Thursday, yet to be confirmed.
Film night: It has been established that we have adequate equipment in the school to hold a film night, Mr Cole requested a screening before we break up for Easter. (since est. that this might not be poss.). Tickets will be £2 per child and this will include a drink and a bag of popcorn or crisps.
Bag2school: The bags will be delivered within the next week and will go out in book bags. Two collections have been booked, the first will be on Monday 22nd March. Please bring your full bags into school on that morning. Information leaflets will go out with the bags. Another collection has been booked for October.
Yellow Moon: The latest catalogues will be going out in book bags imminently, thank you to everyone for helping with the distribution. The issue was raised as to whether it was worth giving out so many catalogues each time and it was agreed that in future only the infants and nursery children would receive them.
Easter Event Sunday 21st March: The Easter event will go ahead as usual with a version of an Egg Hunt to be decided. It will be £3 per family to enter or £1 per individual entry. We do need a prize for the winner and prizes for runners up, if anyone can find a suitable donation of a worthy prize it would be gratefully received. Donations of cakes to sell at the event are needed plus volunteers to help out.
Fun Run Sunday 9th May: Jo Tucker is running this event not running in it! She would like to emphasise that this is a fun run but it is for adults only due to the nature of the route and the distance. The distance of the run is 2.9miles. This is a sponsored event, entry fee is £5 which includes a raffle ticket. First prize for the raffle is 1 year free membership at Fitness Solutions. We would like to have some other prizes along the health/fitness/beauty theme and any donations/ideas will be appreciated. We also need people to help marshall the event.
Bike Ride Sunday 20th June: Riders will leave the school at about 7.30am. Mr Cole will arrange transport for the bikes. A childrens event will take place at the school on the same day with races and refreshments etc. Watch this space.
Summer Fete Friday 9th July: We are planning to have the same/similar events to last year: Bouncy slide/castle, Quad Bikes, Tropical Inc., catering etc. Mr Cole expressed his concerns over access for some of the attractions due to building work taking place at the back of the school. It was decided that we would contact the relevant companies to ask them to come and check alternative access routes. Also we could make more use of the top playground if necessary. Plans are being put in place for our biggest event of the year. We do need as much input as possible for this event and would be happy for ideas to be put forward.
Date of next meeting TUESDAY 16TH MARCH 2010, all welcome please come along.
