The R.E. Department at Oakdale has always played an important role within the school, as far as moral and spiritual guidance are concerned. Within the Department we try to raise the awareness of a multicultural society among the pupils.
During lessons pupils are encouraged to express their views and beliefs where appropriate and all are urged to show respect for each other. R.E. is not just about knowledge, it is also about helping pupils to discuss issues that may have an effect on them at some point in their lives. The R.E. Department uses a wide variety of resources. It is well equipped with a large teaching area, including an interactive whiteboard which has added to the enjoyment of lessons.
