Croeso!
Both Mrs Barry and Miss Brewer welcome you to the Welsh department.
As dictated by the national Assembly for Wales, Welsh is compulsory to all pupils at KS3 and KS4. However, at the age of 14 some pupils opt to follow the full course rather than the short course.
We aim to make the subject as appealing and as relevant to the pupils as possible. Booklets address the needs of the pupils and are updated on a regular basis. Lessons are supplemented by the use of the interactive whiteboard and pupils are encouraged to participate in language games.
Several visits to Llangrannog are organised throughout the year where pupils are encouraged to speak Welsh as well as take part in the physical activities.
Results at GCSE level are excellent and many pupils are entered for the exam in year 10.
Classrooms are attractive and well equipped with displays of pupils’ work.
