Fruit Tuck Shop
|
| As part of the Healthy Schools
scheme we have opened a Fruit Tuck Shop during school break times.
It is an excellent opportunity for children to be encouraged to eat more
fruit. It has wider benefits including a practical initiative to
support work in the curriculum on nutrition and further the idea of
promoting a healthy school. |
 |
| The fruit costs 20p per day for a whole portion
and 50p per week for a half portion for Nursery pupils. The selection of fruit varies
from week to week and from season to season. It has been very
successful to date.
Year 6 pupils run the shop with assistance of Mrs Witchell - it give a
real life source of data to supplement the Maths and ICT curriculum.
It also acts as a business enterprise scheme involving the local
community.
