Mission Statement

Geography explores the connection between people and their environment.  It provides a means of enquiry, observation, exploration and description of features of the Earth, differing localities and the influences which create them.

Organisation

Geography lessons are usually taught every week throughout the school in the Early Years and Key Stage One Classes. At Key Stage Two Geography is often taught on a fortnightly basis. Children may work in pairs or in small groups accompanied by the teacher and other adults for outside work. In Years 1 – 6, more formal Geography lessons take place. These lessons concentrate both on the skills and vocabulary the children require to learn and a range of work related to cross-curricular activities, the use of ICT and occasional homework activities

Eco-Park,
Cilfynydd Water Treatment Centre. The local area – Pengam and Fleur-de-Lys.
Porthcawl or another sea-side location.
