SLS TRAINING DAY15th October 2004

Feedback and Course Evaluation

The Moving Forward Training Day, run by Geoff Dubber was held at Schools Library Service on 15th October 2004. Overall, it was considered to be a highly successful event by the course delegates, who included a mixture of teachers and school library staff.

What aspects of the day did you find the most useful?

Useful advice given on how we can use effective strategies to ensure confident use in LRC making pupils effective learners.

Strategies to promote study skills and raising use of the LRC with teaching staff.

Good tips, share experience with other schools.

Ideas for cross-curricular planning for information retrieval.

Practical nature of handouts and suggestions.

 

In what ways could the day have been improved?

Lots of information given, maybe two days might have been better.

Maybe having the resources in advance to look through before the course.

The whole day was very good.

More time!

What were the positive outcomes of the day?

Lots of interesting practices to be put into place.

Moving library forward with use of ICT and literacy skills.

Practical ideas to put into practice straight away.

Inspiring and encouraging as most school librarians are working in isolation.

Any other comment?

A worthwhile day – Geoff Dubber conveyed his passion and enthusiasm of what could be achieved in the LRC.

Excellent day.

Amazing! Probably the best INSET I’ve ever attended.
